Product Review: 4L MDMA Gummies
Are MDMA edibles the new wave?
Before we start our 4L MDMA Gummy review, let’s get this out of the way: This product isn’t gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, or anything else some of you health freaks might be looking for. It’s just MDMA mixed inside of a gummy. There’s no list of ingredients on the packaging other than the dosing. If that sketches you out, I get it. I, on the other hand, am indifferent. What can I say? I like trying new drug products.
I was super excited when I was given the opportunity to try these gummies out. I received the sample from a trusted source. Shroomtown cares about harm reduction: I urge everyone reading this to not take drugs from random strangers, and, if you already have, to test them before using them. Sometimes, it may be good to test your drugs even if you do know the source. Safety first.
Dosing
The package contains six gummies which totaled 300 mg of MDMA. There are two green 100 mg “starters,” along with four red 25 mg “chargers.” I really liked how the dosing was broken up. I hate taking too much MDMA and having it all hit me at once, and this dosing structure made it really easy to pace myself.
Taste
Green Gummy
The green gummies contain 100 mg of MDMA. I’m still not sure what flavor it was, but I’m going to guess green apple. That synthetic, bitter MDMA flavor was very present in this one, which made it hard to really taste whatever the flavor was actually supposed to be. However, the sweetness of the gummy itself and the sugar-coating on the outside helped even it out. The overall flavor wasn’t amazing by any means, but it definitely wasn’t bad either. Personally, I actually liked being able to taste the MDMA in the gummy.
Red Gummy
The red gummies contain 25 mg of MDMA, and the MDMA flavor was much more subtle here. I’m not sure if that was because I was already rolling a bit by the time I ate one, or if it’s due to the fact that there is only a quarter of MDMA in a gummy that was about the same size as the green one. Either way, I enjoyed it. I believe this flavor was strawberry, but, again, I’m still not fully sure.
Effects
I was out with my friends to celebrate Pride in Denver and decided this was where I’d like to test the gummies out. What better way to celebrate love than having MDMA pumping through my veins? It was about 3:30 pm, clear skies, the sun shining, and the energy was marvelous.
The effects of the gummies were very smooth and enjoyable. I started with one green 100 mg gummy. After about 50 minutes, I felt my cheeks lift up into a permanent, soft smile, and my body felt light and tingly. It was a good mix of body and head-high. Then I decided to take a 25 mg charger to get a bit higher, and I took another charger about 45 minutes after that one. The feeling of the high itself only got more intense, but never morphed into anything different.
The biggest thing I look for in MDMA is how fast and smooth it comes on. I like it when it kicks in within an hour and doesn’t overwhelm me. A lot of that has to do with dosing, so I want to reiterate how much I liked how 4L broke up the gummies and dosing. All-in-all, I took 150 mg of MDMA and had a glorious time.
Value
This product isn’t on the market yet, so it’s hard to really give my two cents here. This will retail anywhere from $45 - $60, which, to me, seems like a pretty substantial difference. Anytime I’ve bought MDMA, the typical price for it was around $10 for .1 g. $45 for .3 g of MDMA seems steep, but to me, getting my MDMA in gummy form is worth the extra cost because of the convenience, easy dosing, and the fact that I don’t have to worry if it’s been mixed with anything (Although I highly recommend you still test your drugs regardless of how official and fancy the packaging appears). That said, if the price was $60, I’ll most likely continue to get my MDMA in crystal form.
